The Rev. Louise Hart
I am very pleased to be starting as
the new minister at Rockton Sheffield Pastoral Charge. I look forward
to meeting and getting to know the members and adherents of this faith
community. To begin with, I’ll tell you a bit about myself.
is a second career for me. I had long wanted to go into ministry but it
took me a while to answer God’s call. The story of ‘Jonah and the
Whale’ resonates with me; God called but I chose to go another way. I
was a teacher before I went into ministry. After studying at Emmanuel
College, I was ready to follow God's call in a new direction.
my recent past, I was a minister in Northern British Columbia. I was at
St. Luke’s United Church in Fort St. John for two years. I left friends
and family to go up there for my internship and I stayed for another
year. I am happy to back in the Hamilton/Burlington area where I grew
up and most of my family resides.
I am passionate about
preaching and social justice. I am inspired and sustained by God’s
promise of unconditional love and Jesus’ invitation to practise radical
hospitality. I look forward to being a part of this faith community.
Blessings, Rev. Louise Hart
